Dame Aisha Buhari, on Wednesday, January 27, paid a visit to gallant Nigerian soldiers who were wounded on the battle field.
The Nigeria’s First Lady, the 44 Army Reference Hospital in Kaduna state, where soldiers wounded during the war against Boko Haram were admitted.
She was accompanied by the President of the Nigerian Army Officers Wives Association (NAOWA) and wife of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Kalsum Buratai, and wives of other top military officers.
Media reports inform that the visit was intended to urge army authorities to ensure the timely payment of entitlements owed to wounded soldiers and their families.Aisha said: “I want to urge the Nigerian Army to hasten in paying the benefits of the deceased soldiers as a way of providing succour to their families.”
She praised the brave soldiers for their efforts in ensuring that peace was restored to the northeast,
The president’s wife also promised those present that their sacrifice would not be in vain, stressing that they surely will be rewarded.
Aisha also went on to praise the hospital for providing care to the wounded soldiers.
