Former Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on the Diaspora, Mrs. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, on Monday, described the mass exodus of members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to her party, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) as shameful.
The former lawmaker said those who had been cross-carpeting were nothing but “political prostitutes.”
In a series of tweets via her Twitter handle, @abikedabiri, the ex-lawmaker, who represented Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Lagos State, said: “The rate of defection from PDP to APC is shameful. Political prostitutes, politics of convenience, not conviction.”
According to her, the APC should not allow the defections. She, however, added that “APC leadership thinks otherwise.”She pointed that “Defection should not be so easy. But hopefully, we will gravitate towards ideology.
“I will keep airing my minority views on this.” Few days back, former governor of old Anambra State, Chief Jim Nwobodo and a former member of the House of Representatives, Uche Ekwunife, all announced their defection to the ruling APC.
