How To Prevent Tangling Of Your Virgin Hair Weave

My Hair Solution- Jodelle Adoriel

#HOWTO measures for keeping your weave #tanglefree.
This is an extreme case of course but tangled hair is something all women deal with no matter the age or race.
People with naturally straight hair are much better blessed since their hair does not tangle as much as those with wavy and curly hair.
Tangled/knotted/nappy/kroes -hair is prone to breakage and damage since hair strands break easily when we try to untangle our hair with force. That’s why we thought instead if talking about untangling your hair, let’s focus on adopting proven hair care methods that would reduce the chances of your hair getting tangled.
  • Regular conditioning helps

    – be sure to condition your hair and hair extensions every time you shampoo to keep it moisturized and soft. If you have frizzy and curly hair then using a deep conditioning hair mask once every 2 weeks is recommended.
  • Hair serums are great for smooth flowing hair – they coat your hair strands making it shine instantly, the coating also protects your hair from frizz thereby reducing chances of tangling. For your virgin hair extensions make sure to apply just 2 to 5 drops of the serum onto your hair twice a week, make sure you cover the tips to prevent split ends.
  • We recommend wide tooth combs for combing and detangling

    – instead of using a hair brush for while and combing your extensions and even better yet, use your fingers to gently comb through the hair. This will effectively remove all knots and tangles from your hair with minimum strain and reduce hair breakage in the process. Never brush wet hair, since hair is highly prone to breakage and damage when it’s wet. After detangling use the hair brush to complete your hair styling regimen.
  • Regular brushing helps to keep hair from knotting

    – Brush your hair at least 2 times daily with a quality brush that will not snag your hair. If you have thick hair or curly hair we recommend that you divide your hair into sections and proceed with brushing or de-tangling section by section. You will notice that when blow drying long hair it can be very easy to end up with a tangled mess. The fault is not of the hair, it is most likely lack of correct equipment and technique. Therefore make sure both for regular brushing and for browdrying, you have bushes of the corect texture in the correct sizes.
  • Safeguard your hair while sleeping

    – If you have long hair, gently brush it out and secure it with a loose braid on either side of your head instead of a single middle braid. You could also twist it to preserve curls. Thereafter use a silky scarf/”doek” to cover as this does not snag the hair or dry it out.
  • Use the right products

    – avoid hair products meant for African hair. Keep in mind that this hair belonged to a caucasion person (European, South American, etc). It is not African hair which we wash once a month or every two weeks for the very lucky heads, it was washed at least 4 times a week using products meant for it.
Therefore do not go and use babyoil on it as we’ve heard and cried, do not use hairfood on it or anything else that you use on your African hair. Go to the “white people” isle and buy good products from that range.
And for the love of all the is holy stop listening to people who say don’t put any product on your hair. If you don’t want hair that sheds every second your touch it, make sure you feed it the right stuff. This is what virgin hair is used to (a topic for another day: how to prevent shedding).

In Conclusion:
As you can see, you have to adapt your hair care habits to suite you hair needs. If you try to force your expensive weave to adapt to yours, your hair will get dry, brittle and tangle easily because it is lifeless.
We hope this post will help you in maintaining hair that is tangle free and a pleasure to wear. Remember, qualight hair does not come cheap, it is an investment, look after it as such and you will ejoy many beautiful years with your hair.
